Getting Started & Usage

This page covers activation, installation, first use, and the fastest checks when the browser extension does not appear.

How do I install the Grais extension on a Chromium-based browser?

The live public product is the Grais desktop browser extension. It is available after Grais Pro activation and is intended for supported Chromium-based desktop browsers.

Install steps

  1. Activate Grais Pro: Open /pricing, start checkout, and wait for activation confirmation.
  2. Open the Web Store link: Use the post-checkout extension install link or your account guidance to open the Chrome Web Store.
  3. Install the extension: Click Add to Chrome or the browser equivalent, then confirm with Add extension.
  4. Pin Grais: Pin the Grais icon in the browser toolbar so it is easy to find when a page blocks inline controls.
  5. Open a real conversation: Start with a page that already has conversation context and a visible text box.

Notes

  • If the Web Store page says the item is not available, sign into the Chrome Web Store with the Google account authorized for the extension.
  • If you are using Microsoft Edge, allow extensions from other stores when prompted, then continue the installation.
  • If activation succeeds but install access is missing, contact hello@grais.ai.

How do I use Grais?

You can launch Grais inside supported browser pages where you are writing messages. Grais reads the conversation context you attach or open, drafts a reply, and leaves the final send decision with you.

Quick Start

  1. Open a site with a text box (e.g., a chat or comment field).
  2. Launch Grais: Click the Grais icon near the text box, or use the toolbar icon if you do not see an inline control.
  3. Generate a draft: Open the panel, choose the level of help you want, and generate a reply.
  4. Review before sending: Edit the draft if needed, insert it into the message box, and send only when it is right.

For best results, keep the thread open while generating. Grais works better when it can see the immediate context, the person you are replying to, and the tone of the current exchange.

What should I do after setup?

Start with a low-risk conversation where you know the right answer but want the wording cleaned up. This gives you a good feel for the draft quality without putting a sensitive thread first.

Useful first workflows:

  • Rewrite a short reply so it sounds more like you.
  • Ask for a calmer version of a tense message.
  • Generate a reply in another language while preserving your tone.
  • Use Planner Mode when the conversation needs several steps instead of one quick response.

Troubleshooting

  • Do not see the icon? Refresh the page, confirm the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions, edge://extensions, or brave://extensions, and verify you are using a supported desktop Chromium browser.
  • Panel will not open? Click the toolbar icon once, refresh the page, then reopen the conversation.
  • Drafts do not generate? Confirm Pro access is active, check your network connection, and try a page with a normal text box before reporting the issue.
  • Using Brave? Temporarily disable Shields for the site and refresh. Shields can block extension behavior on some pages.

Can I use Grais on multiple devices?

Yes, you can install Grais on more than one desktop or laptop as long as you use a supported Chromium-based browser and your account has active access.

The currently named browser targets are Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, and Arc. Other Chromium browsers may work, but they are not the primary support targets.

Mobile browser extensions are not the live product path. The public product page lists iOS and Mac as separate rollout surfaces rather than mobile browser extension installs.
