Failure Modes and Limits

The protocol is not magic.

It fails when:

  • the original decision was vague,

"So the plan is not 'launch unless someone objects.' The plan is 'launch only if legal approves or we explicitly revert to the approved copy.'"

Next owner and restart trigger:

"Legal reviews by Monday afternoon. Product prepares both copy variants. We restart the conversation when legal responds."

That exchange is slightly longer than a casual recap, but it is far more durable. It carries the meaning across the pause instead of assuming the meaning survived automatically.
