Data Handling and Usage Practices

Last updated: August 12, 2026

This page is a plain-language summary. The Privacy Policy is the canonical description of Grais data collection, use, sharing, retention, deletion, and Chrome Web Store Limited Use compliance.

What Grais Handles

Grais can handle account identifiers, conversation content and available message history, participant and conversation identifiers, preferences, memories, plans, telemetry, diagnostic errors, integration data, native-device data for enabled iOS features, and visible-tab screenshots or artifacts for enabled browser tasks.

On supported communication platforms, the Chrome extension can capture the open conversation's available history and upload it to Grais services. It is not limited to a manually selected snippet.

Local and Cloud Processing

Grais uses both local and remote processing in normal operation.

  • Chrome local or session storage and IndexedDB hold authentication, account, preference, conversation, draft, cache, telemetry, and runtime state.
  • The iOS app keeps authentication and session state, settings, account-scoped conversation and action caches, contact bindings, and selected photo overrides on the device. Voice inputs and requested actions are sent to Grais services when you use those features.
  • Grais cloud services process and store the context needed for conversation history, AI replies, memory, planning, integrations, browser tasks, security, diagnostics, and support.
  • AI providers receive the prompt and context needed to produce the requested output. Other service providers support cloud hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, logging, payments, email, attribution, and user-enabled integrations.

Browser Access

The extension uses permissions for the active tab, tabs, storage, alarms, the side panel, and scripting. Host access covers supported conversation platforms, Grais services, local development, and the active visible-tab screenshot capability used by enabled browser tasks.

Normal conversation capture is tied to supported platform pages. Browser-task screenshots are a separate capability and can include anything visible in the active target tab when the task requests the capture. Grais does not use broad host access to build or sell a general browsing history.

Controls and Requests

You can clear local extension data, remove the extension, delete conversations, and edit or delete preferences or memories where those controls are available. Local removal does not automatically delete remote copies already held by Grais or its providers.

For account data access, correction, export, or deletion, email [email protected] from the address associated with the account. Grais may verify your identity and will explain any security, legal, billing, or technical retention limits that apply.

Our Commitments

Grais does not sell or rent user data, use personal content for personalized advertising, transfer user data to data brokers, or use it for creditworthiness or lending.

Grais's use and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.
