What's new
- Profiles: A profile is a named bundle that tells Grais how to work for a kind of conversation. Create profiles on your account page under Profiles. Each one can hold instructions, skills, reference links, and files. For a skill, you write what it does and a short note on when to use it, so Grais knows when it applies. You can keep up to 10 profiles.
- Files Grais can read: Upload PDF, Word (DOCX), plain text, Markdown, CSV, or JSON files to a profile, up to 10 MiB each and 20 files per profile. Grais extracts the text, so it can read and search the files when a reply needs them. You can preview the text it found in each file.
- A default profile, and a choice per conversation: Set one profile as your default and Grais uses it everywhere. In the side panel, open Settings, then Conversation, then Profile to use your default, use no profile, or pick a specific profile for that one conversation. This arrives with extension version 0.2.137.
- Grais follows the profile while it drafts: The active profile's instructions and skills shape every draft, and Grais reads your files when a reply calls for them. For example, a real-estate agent can upload current listings and a pitching playbook, so replies to buyers follow that playbook.
- What Grais remembers, on your account page: The list of what Grais remembers about you now lives at Memory on your account page. It is grouped as About you and by platform. Delete any entry, or choose whether it is kept permanently or for a limited time. The side panel now links to this page instead of showing its own screen.
- Knowledge is replaced by Profiles: Uploading to the old Knowledge page had stopped working, so it is retired. Its old addresses now take you to Profiles, where uploads work.
Why it matters
- You stop repeating the same background and rules every time you start a similar conversation.
- Different kinds of work, such as sales, support, or personal chats, can each have their own instructions and reference material.
- Grais answers from your own listings, price lists, or playbooks instead of guessing.
- What Grais knows about you gets a full-size page that is easier to review and correct.
Try it out
- Open your account page, choose Profiles, and create a profile with a few instructions and one file.
- Mark it as your default, or leave it unset and choose it for a single conversation in the side panel under Settings, Conversation, Profile. Update the extension to 0.2.137 to see that setting.
- Ask Grais for a reply in a conversation where the file matters and check that the draft follows it.
- Choose Memory on your account page to review, delete, or keep what Grais remembers.
- New to Grais? Start with the getting-started guide.
Behind the scenes
- Grais extracts the text from each file so it can search it as well as read it.
- The What Grais remembers screen added to the side panel in extension 0.2.136 is replaced by a link to the account page. Your memories are unchanged.
