What's new
- Grais Skills for every account: Three Skills now work in any supported conversation. Draft in my voice writes a reply in your style for you to review. Thread recap summarizes the conversation and reaches further back when you ask for older context. Tone decode reads the other person's tone, intent, and any pressure in their messages. Type
$in the message box to pick one, or ask in your own words, such as "recap this thread". Skills only read the conversation; they never send anything. - Contacts who share a name get their own conversations: When two people on the same platform have the same display name, Grais now keeps a separate conversation for each of them, as long as it can see their username, number, or profile link. Before, the second person either shared the first person's conversation or could not be connected.
- Replies keep going when the side panel reconnects: If the side panel loses its connection while Grais is replying, for example after a network blip, a tab switch, or when Chrome restarts the extension in the background, the reply carries on. When the panel reconnects, it shows what Grais has written so far within a couple of seconds, instead of an unanswered message until the reply finishes.
- Sign-in finishes after a dropped connection: If your connection drops while the extension is finishing your sign-in, it now completes the sign-in on its own instead of asking you to sign in again.
- Your MCP servers in every reply: If you have added your own MCP servers, every reply can now use them. Before, some replies started without them. A server that does not answer within a few seconds is skipped for that reply instead of holding it up.
- Contact details stay out of web addresses: When the extension looks up a conversation, the contact's name, number, and profile link now travel inside the request rather than in its web address, so they are not written to address logs.
- Arabic is removed for now: Arabic is no longer offered as a reply language. If you had chosen it, Grais replies in English until you pick another language, and the side panel reads left to right.
Why it matters
- A drafted reply, a quick catch-up, or a read on someone's tone is one
$away, without leaving the conversation. - People who share a name no longer share a conversation, so drafts, history, and memory stay with the right person.
- A dropped connection no longer hides a reply in progress or makes you sign in again.
Try it out
- Open a supported conversation, type
$in the message box, and pick Thread recap. - Type
$draft, add what you want to say, and send it to get a reply drafted in your voice. - Ask "what's the tone of their last message?" to have Grais read the conversation with Tone decode.

Behind the scenes
- Grais saves your conversation settings while it prepares a reply instead of before it, so replies can start sooner.
- If a conversation's history cannot be read for a moment, Grais retries, and it no longer drafts a reply without that history.
- In older conversations, earlier messages no longer drop out of the side panel the first time you send a new message.
- If Grais briefly cannot index a message for search, it tries again later instead of storing an entry that search could never find. Entries affected by a short outage on September 27 have been repaired.
- Searching very long conversations no longer slows down other work, background AI tasks now have time limits and retry caps, and the Chrome Web Store version of the extension no longer includes developer debugging tools.
