Clearer updates while Grais works

Check what happened to an interrupted request, see clearer feedback when using a reply, and follow longer conversations more comfortably. Extension changes are available in Chrome version 0.2.146.

What's new

Check an interrupted request

You ask Grais for help, then close the side panel or lose the connection. When you reopen it on the same conversation and browser tab, Grais can check the saved request and tell you whether it was submitted, accepted, or completed. If it cannot confirm what happened, it says so.

Checking the status does not submit your request again. An interrupted request may still need your attention; this update does not automatically restart unfinished work.

See what happened to your reply

When you use Edit in chat or Send, Grais gives clearer feedback about what it could confirm. Putting text into the message box is different from observing it being sent. Neither means the other person has received or read it.

If a send cannot be confirmed, Grais blocks another send of that same draft through its Send action. Check the conversation in your messaging app before sending anything yourself.

Follow the conversation more easily

Loading messages now describe what Grais is actually doing. You can open Context status to see whether the conversation history has finished syncing. A ready message box does not, by itself, mean that sync has finished.

We've also reduced repeated work when displaying longer conversations, helping keep the side panel responsive as replies and activity arrive.

Choose your approach sooner

Choose a saved persona beneath Connect Grais before starting a new Grais conversation. It gives Grais your chosen instructions from the first request.

You can also browse the Library without signing in. When you sign in to add a skill and have no personas yet, you can create one directly from the skill preview, then add the skill without leaving the page.

Why it matters

An interruption should leave you with a way to check what happened. These changes help you decide whether to wait, check the status, or look in your messaging app before taking another action.

Try it out

Chrome extension 0.2.146 is now published. Chrome updates it automatically; the extension changes above appear once you have that version.

  1. Choose a persona when connecting Grais to a new conversation.
  2. If a request is interrupted, reopen the side panel in the same tab and use the request status check before making a new request.
  3. When using a suggested reply, read the result. If sending is uncertain, check your messaging app first.

Behind the scenes

We've separated background maintenance from work needed for your replies and fixed cases where older settings could replace newer ones. Profile skills are now loaded when needed, while your persona's main instructions stay available throughout the conversation.
