Plan Every Conversation with Planner Mode
October 16, 2025
Planner Mode is now live in Grais. It gives the agent a checklist that updates in real time, so you always see what has happened, what is in progress, and what still needs to be completed before the conversation reaches the outcome you are aiming for. Whether you are guiding a sales cycle, resolving a support issue, or keeping a project moving, Planner Mode keeps the interaction aligned without extra tabs or notes.
From stream to strategy
When Planner Mode is enabled, Grais builds a structured plan before it replies. The live stream you already know now includes:
- A step-by-step outline that refreshes as the agent thinks.
- Clear status for each task—planned, in progress, or done—so nothing is forgotten.
- Automatic alignment between the checklist and the assistant’s written response.
The result is a conversation that feels like a project plan: fast streaming responses with context about why each action is happening.
Enable it in seconds
Planner Mode ships with the latest Chrome extension. To turn it on, follow these steps:
- Open the Grais Chrome extension and select the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Toggle Planner Mode to “On.”
- Optional: choose whether the checklist should stay visible after a run completes for easier reviews.
That’s it—every new conversation will start with Planner Mode ready to guide the flow.
Map the path with your agent
Once Planner Mode is active, start a new run and type a goal. Grais will:
- Draft the checklist and display it in the planner panel.
- Stream responses over SSE while updating each step.
- Close completed items automatically and surface anything that needs your input.
Because the checklist and the response share the same source of truth, you always know how close the agent is to delivering the result you asked for.
Where Planner Mode shines
- Sales conversations: Keep discovery, qualification, and follow-up steps visible so you never skip the next commitment on the path to a deal.
- Customer support cases: Break down complex issues into verifiable actions, making it clear what the agent has tried and what comes next.
- Operational workflows: Track recurring procedures—like onboarding or compliance reviews—without copying the same checklist into every conversation.
Pro tips
- Review the checklist after each run. Capture the final state so future conversations begin with a refined playbook.
- Stay in the conversation view. Keep the planner panel open alongside your stream so completion status is always visible.
- Adjust as you learn. Edit or reorder checklist items mid-run to teach Grais how your process evolves.
